Join us at CREATE Arts Center in downtown Silver Spring for an art talk for the exhibition Bold Affirmations on Wednesday, February 7, from 5:30 to 7 PM. Most of the paintings in this exhibition are from the Words to Live By series. I began the series in 2018 when I became concerned about the coarsening of political discourse in the U.S. The positive feedback I received convinced me that we must be bold in working to create the Beloved Community that so many of our compatriots have spoken about. The Way of Love is the only answer to life’s challenges because hate will not get us there! Come to the art talk so we can discuss these words and what they mean to you.

Join us at The Women’s Club of Chevy Chase on Sunday, November 12, from 10 AM to 5 PM for an arts and craft sale. Located at 7931 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland, the club has ample free parking and is housed in a charming mansion. There will be a raffle of gifts to fundraise for vulnerable children and to combat local child trafficking. Come see the works of over 40 local artists and artisan vendors. There will be original art, calendars, prints, and cards, as well as home decor, pottery, glass, clothing, jewelry, and food!

The holiday season is approaching, and what better way to kick off the festivities than with the "Here Come the Holidays” Art Market on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event takes place at the enchanting Arts Barn and historic Kentlands Mansion, nestled in the heart of Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Arts Barn and Kentlands Mansion are located at 311 and 320 Kent Square Road.

The "Here Come the Holidays” Art Market promises to be an exquisite celebration of art and holiday spirit, featuring a wide array of local and regional artists showcasing their talents and offering unique, handcrafted items. Splish-splash in our studios while making waves on paper, inking up fish, printing with a clamshell press, and more. Guests can also explore the Life Aquatic art exhibition and a silent auction full of buried treasure, all while receiving treats from mythical mermaids and enjoying music fit for the rowdiest pirate crew.

Swimsuits not required. Nautical finery encouraged.

21+ (sorry guppies!) Provisions include beer, wine, and chum buckets full of snacks. A signature drink will also be available (for additional doubloons).
